Morag Burnett


Chair, and Board Lead on Equalities, Diversity & Inclusion
Originally from Aberdeen, Morag began her career in arts management, including working with the Edinburgh International Festival. She has since worked with international development organisations and foundations for over 25 years in Honduras, the Dominican Republic, New York, London, Mexico City and Tbilisi, with a focus on strategy, governance and change.
Morag now lives in Edinburgh, where she is Head of Governance and Operations at The Promise Scotland, the organisation responsible for driving the work of change demanded by the Independent Care Review.
Morag’s previous Board roles include serving as interim chair and deputy chair of the innovative Lankelly Chase foundation.  She is passionate about the performing arts, is a former member of the RSNO Chorus and enjoys live performance across a broad range of arts forms. Having served on the Scottish Ensemble board for the past three years, Morag is wholly committed to SE’s drive to create exhilarating musical experiences, push the boundaries of classical music and forge connections with diverse audiences.
