Diane Clark

Diane started playing the bass at 16 because her hands were big enough. She studied at the RCS (formerly RSAMD) with Duncan McTier and Corin Long.

In 1994, Diane joined Scottish Ensemble. She also spent ten years working in London with: The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Covent Garden Orchestra, English National Opera, BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra. During that time she played on a variety of film, TV and pop recordings.

Diane now lives in Derbyshire where she works with the BBC Philharmonic and the Hallé. In 2009 she was appointed Co-Principal Bass with the Manchester Camerata.
