Stories from Scottish Creations: Inverness

I like the way I can speak through the music...it’s like a voice. And I can express myself more easily than any other form of communication through the viola, which is what I really like about it.

Jane Atkins, violist

10 October 2022

In this third documentary from our Scottish Creations tour we’re in Inverness and talking to our Viola section: Jane Atkins and Andrew Berridge. They speak about the tour, what they enjoy about playing the viola and what the return to live performance has mean to them.

Touring in May 2022, Scottish Creations was a celebration of the nations stories – personal, local, folklore and more. Storytelling was not only conveyed through music, both classical and traditional, but also through the visual arts – with the concert touring with an accompanying exhibition, with work from amateur artists and crafters from across Scotland, again all connected with stories. This is the third in a series of five mini documentaries we’ll be releasing from the tour.
