This week our Artistic Director Jonathan Morton returns to Sweden and our friends at Andersson Dance for a revival of last year’s production Partita no.2 – sei solo.

The production forms the third in our series of collaborations with choreographer Örjan Andersson, and sees Jonathan perform Bach’s Partita No.2, music which forms a counterpart to BJ Nilsen’s field recordings from Amsterdam mid-lockdown. Five outstanding dancers surround Jonathan on stage in this production, which is an auditory and perceptual journey from current to ancient times.

In addition, musicians from Scottish Ensemble join Jonathan on stage in Uppsala on 6 October for a performance of the trio version of Bach’s Goldberg Variations; a nod to our first collaboration with Andersson Dance, Goldberg Variations – ternary patterns for insomnia, a production which returns to Scotland next year.
