Aidan O’Rourke

Aidan O’Rourke is a fiddler, composer, producer, teacher and curator. With his trio  Lau and in multiple other collaborations, he has pioneered new sounds in folk music and redefined traditional forms. He grew up in Argyll and is deeply rooted in west coast and Irish fiddle traditions; meanwhile he’s always tested the boundaries and sought out kindred-spirited musicians from other traditions. Lau has been named Best Group an unprecendented four times at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards; Aidan was awarded their Musician of the Year in 2014.
