We are thrilled to be performing today at the biennial George Enescu Festival – a month-long programme of 58 concerts which pays tribute to the man widely regarded as Romania’s greatest composer. We are even more thrilled to announce that the concert is being streamed live, meaning UK fans can share what we hope will be an incredible performance of Brahms, Mansurian, Silvestri, Ravel and Enescu.

SE will take to the stage today (Wed 2 September) at 3pm (UK time) in the stunning main hall of the Romanian Athenaeum – simply go to the Enescu Festival home page to watch live at 3pm.

We are joined for this diverse and surprising programme by the incredible Moldovan-Austrian violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, who will be soloist in Mansurian’s Four Serious Songs as well as leading an arrangement of Brahms’ Three Chorale Preludes – which also features vocals from SE musicians.

The prestigious festival, which takes place between 30 Aug and 20 Sep in Bucharest, Romania, comprises 58 concerts in a programme absolutely packed with internationally-renowned orchestras and performers. We were extremely excited to be invited to the festival alongside the likes of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle; the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam; the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra; the London Symphony Orchestra and many, many more.
