Introducing a new four-day festival celebrating the dynamism and diversity of music for strings.
Presented by Scottish Ensemble, Ensemble Resonanz (Germany), Trondheim Soloists (Norway) and PLMF Music Trust (Estonia), The Bridge Festival is a long weekend packed with events across all corners of Glasgow, celebrating music for strings and our rich European heritage.
In venues scattered across the breadth of the city, there’ll be glittering collaborations, late-night happenings with string/DJ collisions, cosy café gigs, daytime sessions, chances to participate, a brunch + concert combo, and an epic concert in Glasgow’s iconic Barrowland Ballroom – offering the rare opportunity to witness all of the ensembles performing together, and the world premieres of two special commissions from Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür and British composer/producer Mica Levi.
The Bridge Festival is live and on sale from Thursday 27 February 2020.

About The Bridge Strings Network
The Bridge Strings Network was established in 2018 by three musical ensembles with formidable reputations for creating out-of-the-box, innovative live events, and a talent development organisation.
Together, we aim to promote and celebrate the richness, variety and potential of music for strings – and the Bridge Festival will be the culmination of our work: a chance to proudly present some of the most innovative ways to experience this music, bring it to as many people as possible, and transform the ways that people can arrive at and enjoy the string repertoire.
