As 2024 draws to a close, we’re reflecting on an incredible year of concerts, collaboration and creativity. From performances across Scotland and beyond, to wellbeing sessions in schools, community settings and Maggie’s Centres, it’s been a year to remember.

We joined forces once again with Jasdeep Singh Degun for a performance at King’s Place in London, where we also performed our award-winning production, in Sync, in collaboration with MishMash Productions.


February - Music Video released

Our latest music video was released. Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony was the second of two specially commissioned films produced with Glasgow production company, Forest of Black. It joins our growing catalogue of visually striking music videos.


March - Impulse: Music in Motion premiered
March - Impulse: Music in Motion premiered
March: Impulse – Music in Motion, our highly anticipated new cross-genre project in partnership with choreographer Örjan Andersson, received it’s premiere. Our musicians performed entirely from memory and were set free to create a striking visual representation of the patterns, intricacies, and passion of the music.


April and May - Music for Wellbeing sessions

April and May: Music for Wellbeing sessions took place in Maggie’s Centres, schools and community settings.


June: Concerts for a Summer's Night
June: Concerts for a Summer's Night
June: Concerts for a Summer’s Night brought vibrant string music to open, light-filled venues across Scotland.


July - Performance at Wigmore Hall

July: A trio of Scottish Ensemble musicians performed at the international home of chamber music, London’s Wigmore Hall.


August - Healing Arts Scotland
August - Healing Arts Scotland
August: As part of Healing Arts Scotland‘s Glasgow Day, we facilitated a Music & Wellbeing Workshop which will include guided listening alongside mindfulness tools and techniques to support wellbeing.


September - Southbank Centre debut
September - Southbank Centre debut
September: We made our debut appearance at London’s Southbank Centre, as part of their 2024-25 Classical season opening weekend. We performed a contemporary programme which culminated in Philip Glass’ Symphony No. 3 to rapturous applause from the packed audience. Read the reviews here.


October - Nordic Music Days

October: We joined Aidan O’Rourke on stage with friends from Norway, Greenland and Finland, as we took over The Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow for the opening concert of Nordic Music Days.


November - Kendal Mountain Festival

November: In collaboration with DJ and psychotherapist, Nemone Metaxas we headed to the Lake District for Balance Between the Waves, an immersive three part experience (that included a dip in Lake Windermere!)


December - Concerts by Candlelight
December - Concerts by Candlelight
December: We rounded 2024 off with our annual Concerts by Candlelight tour in some of Scotland’s most atmospheric settings. We performed a rich selection of music including a brand new work by Hannah Kendall.
