Scottish Ensemble : QuicksilverListen and play – a concert in two parts On Sunday 10 April we are joined by Director, Anthony Marwood in an exciting concert experience for young musicians. During the first half of the concert, there is a choice – to stay in the concert hall to hear Mendelssohn’s youthful Sinfonia No. 13 in C minor and Morton Gould’s Pulitzer prize winning Stringmusic, or join a workshop backstage at City Halls with Francis Cumming, Head of Strings at St Mary’s Music School and James Manson, bass player extraordinaire with the Ensemble.
The workshop will explore the musical themes of Schumann’s Cello Concerto which they will hear during the second half of the concert. The workshop is open to all Grade 2 and above string players aged 10 – 14.
To book your ticket call the Box Office on 0141 353 8000. To register for the workshop call the Scottish Ensemble office on 0141 332 4747 or email caroline.thompson@scottishensemble.co.uk.
