Jane Atkins revisits Anna Clyne’s Reveal

Those of you who can bear to cast your minds back to Lockdown may well remember our online Solo Collaborations projects, the second of which saw Scottish Ensemble viola player Jane Atkins work with composer Anna Clyne, visual artist Jyll Bradley and Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery.

The resulting video project, titled Pardes, was a meditation on creative potential, light and growth.

The film featured the hand-making of a small-scale model of an artwork incorporating string, balsawood and twigs with light-reactive Plexiglas, casting ever-changing colour, pattern and allusive shapes, paired with Jane’s performance of music by Anna Clyne.

Jyll Bradley’s Pardes was always intended to come to life in a full-scale installation at Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery, and we’re excited to say that this has become a reality. The exhibition opens this Friday, and Jane Atkins will be appearing live on opening night to perform Anna Clyne’s work, Reveal, in situ amongst the exhibition – our online project made tangible reality.

Jane’s performances are at 6.15pm and 7.15pm this Friday, 26 November, and there are very limited free places remaining if you’d like to attend. For full information and booking visit the Fruitmarket website.
