As of 15 April 2020, following government advice relating to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we have taken the decision to postpone the Bridge Festival, due to take place from 14-17 May 2020. This decision stems from government advice regarding the closure of venues, and the restrictions on all non-essential social contact and travel, which would affect both our musicians and audiences.
We are incredibly sad not to be able to bring you these exciting performances celebrating European music for strings and the innovative energy that drives the ensembles who create and perform this rich shared musical history. We hope to reschedule the festival for later this year with our partners (Trondheim Solistene, Ensemble Resonanz and PLMF), but for now feel this is an essential decision to support the continued safety of our players, staff and audiences.
All our bookers should receive full information from the RCS box office in the coming days – please bear with us as we set up this system. Full refunds will be offered, but already purchased tickets will also remain valid for the postponed event.
We will continue to monitor the situation and follow government advice regarding our future festival date. We will update our audiences and stakeholders as quickly and regularly as we can.

International relationships, learning, great ideas and support are becoming all the more important as we deal with this extraordinary situation, and The Bridge is about just those things. So while it is with deep sadness that we have to press pause on this project that has been part of our organisations’ shared ambitions for over two years, we know that the extraordinary music we create individually and together, the passion of audiences we cannot wait to perform to, and the ideas we have generated and shared will sustain us as we move forward.
We thank all our audiences, partners and funders for their understanding, look forward to sharing the festival and new ideas with you as soon as we can, and wish you all the best for your own well-being in this extraordinary situation.
