harmneuefotos2010014Happy New Year from all at SE!
We ended 2013 with packed houses during our December Nordic Nights ‘Concerts by Candlelight’ tour. We enjoyed ***** and **** reviews (to view click here) and some great feedback from our audiences, which was captured in our annual audience survey.
2013 also saw SE perform 46 concerts, 5 residencies, 2 international tours, recordings, broadcasts and more. It was a jam-packed year!
Still in the 2013/2014 season you’ll be able to see us perform across Scotland and in London with the thrilling young mezzo soprano Sophie Harmsen (pictured above). She’ll be singing Dvořák’s heartfelt Love Songs as well as a selection of arias by Handel. For more on the concert click here.
From 21 – 24 April in Aberdeen and 26 – 29 April in Perth we’ll be holding our next set of city residencies. We’ll be getting out and about in communities creating a bespoke range of performance and participatory events. Tickets are already on sale for the SE Piano Promenade when we’ll be performing with one of the leading chamber musicians of his generation, pianist Alasdair Beatson. Filling the city with music we’ll perform three chamber music masterpieces in three distinctive Perth venues. For full information click here.
In April/May we’ll also be performing Sally Beamish’s double concertoSeavaigers with the folk super-duo of fiddler Chris Stout and harpist Catriona McKay in Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The work vividly describes a sea journey from Dundee to Shetland, depicting the birds, dolphins, fears and adventures of a spectacular North Sea voyage. For more information click here.
