A mini documentary looking into Goldberg Variations – ternary projects for insomnia was launched this week on BBC Arts Online, a platform bringing together coverage of the most exciting and
interesting art events and projects happening at the moment.
The film, created by Scottish Ensemble filmmaker-in-residence Hugh Carswell, offers insights into the creation of the project, as well as stunning glimpses of the performance and Hugh’s own artistic take on the behind-the-performance chaos and magic generated by the musicians and dancers in the build up to the première night in Stockholm.

This is the second time that Scottish Ensemble, and Hugh’s films, have been aired by the BBC in recent months; in October 2015, footage of 20th-Century Perspectives, Scottish Ensemble’s 2014 collaboration with visual artist Toby Paterson, was aired as part of BBC Two series The Story of Scottish Art.
