Scottish Ensemble is excited to announce that Goldberg Variations – ternary patterns for insomnia, its 2015 collaboration with Swedish contemporary dance company Andersson Dance, will tour to Shanghai and Washington as part of the group’s 2017-18 Season.
Scottish Ensemble and Andersson Dance will perform the critically-acclaimed show at Shanghai Concert Hall on 27 and 28 October. Then, in 2018, both companies will visit the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington D.C. for four performances from 26-28 April.
Since its premiere in Sweden in September 2015, the project has been performed across Scotland (November 2015) as well as a six-date tour of Sweden (February 2016), an appearance at contemporary dance gathering internationale tanzmesse nwr (August 2016) and, most recently, at the Bach Academy Bruges (January 2017), one of Europe’s most prestigious festivals celebrating the Baroque master.
Further upcoming European dates this year include three performances in Norway and two nights at the Thuringia Bach Festival in Germany (both April 2017).
The rest of Scottish Ensemble’s 2017-18 Season will be announced in June 2017. If you’d like to stay informed, please join the mailing list on the Scottish Ensemble homepage.
